The basis for this upheaval is the 2004 Presidential Race
The people who are so hyped up about this issues should be asking the basic questions that I as an investigator ask at the inception of every inquiry.
What gain is there for those who allegedly “leaked” such info. If as proffered, the “leakers” meant to do harm to the ex-ambassador, why not utilize the methods available to them to destroy him. A discreet attack upon the target would serve to discredit and disarm the target. Such an attack would not have to be based on truth, just shock and front page effect. The intelligence industry has applied these tactics very successfully for decades. A bullet makes a martyr, personal destruction minimizes the target and shifts their audience’s perception from crusader to fringe / nut. The people in the administration are well educated and savvy. They also had the previous administration to study and learn from.
Questions:
How did we go from the CIA saying that she was just an administrative assistant to her being a CIA field agent?
Did you ever wonder why no one called for a investigation, although they knew about this investigation since June. Suddenly, the call for an investigation becomes fortuitous for Democrats on the Bush administration attack path. Voila! Investigation, now!.
If a leak did occur, it absolutely should be dealt with. My question is, where was the indignant reaction to the leaks of sensitive information from the Los Alamos Laboratory? The loss of W88 plans and Top Secret Information?
Ah! That’s right, it did not serve their end. Nothing to do with the safety and security of the nation, everything to do with power at all cost.
